Document wipe

Strip the author from the PDF.Keep the pages.

Windows “Remove Properties” does not finish the job on PDF. PixWipe shows Author, Creator, and Producer, then blanks those strings — plus Word, Excel, and PowerPoint names. Free. No account.

Honest about what v1 does not do

Acrobat Sanitize walks annotations, attached files, hidden layers, and JavaScript. PixWipe does not. We blank Author, Creator, Producer, Title leftovers we can see, and the matching XMP tags — and we also overwrite UTF-16 copies of the same name so a hex search does not resurrect it. Pages are not redrawn.

That is still more than File Explorer, and more recoverable-safe than a naïve ExifTool pass that leaves the old string in the file. If you need a courtroom-grade sanitize, use Acrobat. If you need to stop leaking “Prepared by Alex” before you email a quote, this is the job.
